Janice Braverman is a visual communications professional, photographer, interactive media specialist, and artist. She has worked as an art director and designer for large Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, and non profits. She runs her own business as a communications consultant, designer, and photographer for print & interactive media. Janice has won many national awards for her design work.
Janice teaches as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash College in the Art & Visual Communications Department. She teaches photography, digital imaging & design courses.
Braverman holds a BS in Design from the University of Cincinnati and is a graduate of the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Program at the International Center for Photography in NYC. She holds dual MFA degrees from The Ohio State University; one in Art and Technology, focused on photography, and digitally controlled environmental installations & wearables. The second, MFA focused on Visual Communications Design, with research in cognitive systems engineering, interface design, interactive media, online learning, and animation.
Janice also works on projects of personal artistic expression. Her art has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the US and abroad. Janice has won such honors as the Leica Medal of Excellence, numerous grants, and is included in many fine art collections.
In addition to her creative personal and professional work, she loves to teach. She finds this dual approach beneficial to herself & students. Janice brings real world experience & examples into the classroom. She has an open minded approach to new information and always welcomes the opportunity to learn, grow, experiment, and collaborate.
